COUNCIL PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Guardamar Council Public Library has belonged to the Valencian Public Reading Network since 1988, the year in which it was located on the first floor of the House of Culture.

Since 2007 it has occupied a new 4-storey building that houses several services. At the same time, it has become a major meeting point for the population, a place where the different nationalities living in Guardamar come together.

It has a catalogue of over 43,000 bibliographic registers distributed amongst books, films, music CDs, multimedia CDs, daily newspapers and a large number of periodical publications.

You will find the latest editorial news, including books in European languages such as: Spanish, Catalan/Valencian, English, French, German, Dutch, etc. for a diverse audience: children, teenagers, adults, foreigners, etc.

The Library disposes of thee following spaces:

  • Entrance hall: Exhibition hall.
  • Floor 2: Children’s library, with reading room, baby room, multimedia space and story corner.
  • Floor 3: General library, which has a reading room, a loan service, newspaper library, reference section, multimedia space, conference room and administration offices.
  • Floor 4: Study room and the ‘Vicente Ramos’ Study and Research Room, which houses the bibliographic legacy of local historian Vicente Ramos and the Guardamar Council Historical Archive.
