The croquette in Spanish gastronomy

The croquette is one of the great icons of Spanish cuisine. With humble origins as a way to use up leftover stews and meats, it has become a staple in bars and restaurants across the country. Ham, chicken, or stew croquettes are the most traditional, but chefs’ creativity has led to countless variations.

In Guardamar, such gastronomic events are common. Croquette Week takes this tradition a step further, offering croquettes that reinterpret classics with modern touches: from the richness of oxtail to the freshness of the sea with octopus or red prawn proposals. This mix of innovation and respect for tradition makes Croquette Week a perfect showcase of Spain’s culinary richness.

As you can see, the 2025 Croquette Week in Guardamar del Segura is much more than a food festival: it is the perfect excuse to discover the talent of its chefs, enjoy croquette tradition in a festive atmosphere, and take in everything the city has to offer.
